The Bachelor of Science in psychology is a general liberal arts degree that prepares graduates for lifelong learning. Features of the major include exposure to and practice in problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, information-gathering and synthesis skills, interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, and skills in research and statistical reasoning. The field’s knowledge base regarding human behavior is pertinent to virtually all careers that entail dealing with people. Students with a bachelor’s degree in psychology commonly enter careers in the fields of human services, business, human resources, education, and criminal justice. Psychology majors sometimes pursue graduate study in a variety of fields, including counseling, psychology, social work, law, healthcare, business, and education. Lindenwood University offers both a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a minor in psychology.
