MUS 14101 - Music Theory I 3 Credit Hour(s) This course is divided into two components: sight-singing and music analysis. Sight-singing includes singing short melodies at sight, major and minor scales, intervals up to and including an octave, and verbalization of rhythmic exercises. Analysis includes chords, cadences, non-harmonic tones, melodic organization, texture and textural reduction, species counterpoint, and voice leading in four-part chorale writing. Prerequisite(s): MUS 10000 . Corequisite(s): MUS 14102 . Offered: Spring.
