ESC 13200 - Introductory Astronomy with Lab 4 Credit Hour(s) GE-Natural Science with Lab This is a survey course that addresses the historical background of astronomy; measuring methods for celestial objects; the electromagnetic spectrum and spectroscopy of celestial objects; telescopes; formation and scale of the solar system; characteristics of planets, moons, and space debris; birth and death of stars; galaxies, dark matter, and dark energy; and the formation of the universe.
