The Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies provides a broad foundation in education theory and practice, preparing graduates for a range of professional roles in educational and education adjacent settings.
The degree may also serve as a pathway to Missouri teacher certification for students who complete an approved educator preparation pathway, including all required coursework, clinical experiences, and state mandated assessments. Certification eligibility is determined through the College of Education and Human Services and is not automatic upon degree completion.
Students pursuing teacher certification in conjunction with the Educational Studies degree must work closely with their Teacher Education advisor, and the College of Education and Human Services Certification Officer to ensure that all Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) requirements are met. Certification requirements may exceed the minimum requirements of the Educational Studies degree.
Graduates of the program may pursue careers in educational settings, curriculum and instructional support, educational technology, corporate training, or continue into graduate level educator preparation programs, as appropriate to individual goals.
