IMF 65001 - MFA Thesis I Credit Hour(s): 3 The graduate thesis is required for the final six credit hours of the MFA in Writing program. Students receive instructor feedback and guidance during the term as they produce a final creative portfolio in their chosen genre (fiction, poetry, or creative nonfiction) or across genres. In MFA Thesis I, students will propose their project; situate their project within the contemporary literary landscape; receive feedback on initial portions of the project from the instructor; and ruminate on craft skills, the content of their project, and their place in the literary community.
This course is only offered in the first eight-week session of each fall and spring term and the first six-week session of summer; IMF 65002 is offered only in the second eight-week session of each fall and spring term and the second six-week session of summer. The two courses must be taken sequentially with no terms in between.
It is strongly recommended students have completed 36 credit hours of IMF coursework prior to registering for this course. Corequisite(s): IMF 65002 .
